jump start your practice... record yourself

Here's a thought for that thing that we all have to do... but hate it... Practice.

The name implies work... but if it's work, then why do they call it playing the guitar.

The key is to find ways to make it fun and interesting enough so it doesn't feel like work.  One of my tricks is to record what I'm working on and listen to it later.  Once you get over the initial weirdness of recording and listening to yourself you'll get a different perspective of your playing, and your sound.  As I listen to the recording I can little things about my playing... and I get jazzed and want to get back tweak what I've heard.

No high tech equipment is required, any portable tape recorder will do.

Give it a try and let me know how it worked out...
